So, I'm now rounding the corner on the end of my 20th week. It's really amazing how quickly my body, and the little guy inside my body has changed. I have a TON more energy then I did in my first Trimester, but, the barfing has not subsided. I have heard it said (I'm not sure how much I believe it) that easy pregnancies make for a hard/long delivery; and hard pregnancies make for the "three push" deliveries. I think I will choose to believe it, we'll find out sooner or later. I can no longer safely wear regular pants (I cannot get them zipped or buttoned AT ALL, so they either fall down, or if my shirts are not long enough everyone knows what kind of underwear I am sporting for the day. So I have switched to basically all maternity, they make me laugh really, the big elastic bands, it's just kind of odd. It was so weird, I was sitting there one day and the boy did a summersault in my tummy, rested on my bladder(I have to pee A LOT), and began kicking and thrashing hard enough that you can now see the little alien trying to escape his mothership! For those of you who have not seen this before, it's REALLY REALLY freaky, but one of those things that you can't stand to not watch. Benny and I have begun talking to him and singing him songs "The Cannibal King" is his favorite, as it was all of we kids in my family (sorry to reveal that Benny). When I put the earbuds to my belly and play the ipod for him he really enjoys it! Benny and I tried an experiment to see if we could find out where he was positioned by how he reacted when we moved the buds to certain areas of my belly; seriously, a cool thing, try it if you have a bun in the oven! I have a second ultrasound on the 20th of June, we'll see how big the little fella' is then. Here is to the rapid growth process that I am embarking on this month...an inch of growth per week from here on out for the little alien...to new adventures!!! |
